There is a primal longing in each of us to be reunited with our creator. We can see “the work of his hands” when we look up to the clouds in the sky; and everything in nature is a reminder of the glory of our God. This explains why so many people seek solace and inspiration in nature. The simple act of watching the sun set has the power to quiet even the busiest of souls. The problem occurs when we get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, we don’t take time to enjoy and appreciate our creator and all He has created for us.
We can find hope in Psalm 19:1~
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”
Life Application~
Men and women both share their desire to disconnect from social media, cell phones, email and decompress from daily stressors. When we make it a priority to disconnect from our distractions and reconnect with our creator, we gain clarity and peace. A clear mind and a peaceful heart lead to better health, creativity and overall sense of joy. Take time to enjoy nature regularly. Stop and watch a sunrise or sunset. Engage in activities such as fishing, hiking, boating, or camping. Retreat to a serene space and be in awe of the natural landscape and wildlife. When we look to see God in every creation, we are inspired to live for the purpose in which we were created.
Prayer~
Heavenly Father, I praise your holy name and give you the glory for all you have done in my life. Help me see you in everything you’ve created, and let my life proclaim the work of your hands. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
